چکیده

A 90-98 GHz transmitter frontend fabricated in TSMC 65-nm bulk CMOS, capable of concurrent radar-communications applications is presented. proposed that can be used for phase-coded frequency-modulated continuous wave (PC-FMCW) radar as well data transmission and interference mitigation. The architecture based on an 8-12 IF ×8 frequency multiplication a 10-11 local oscillator (LO). Vector IQ summation provides amplitude phase control, followed by output power amplifier. Two X-band inputs make the attractive radar-communication systems one input multiplied while other not, allowing upconverting modulated signals. achieves full plane supporting high-resolution beam steering with PSAT 13.7 dBm at 94 GHz. consumes 320 mW from 1.2 V supply (VDD) occupies 0.2 mm2 core area. also presents excellent spectral purity >30 dB harmonic rejection conversion gain 28 dB.

Sweep generation for FMCW radar applications

Especially for the long distance Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave(FMCW) radar applications, the non linear frequency sweep due to the Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCO) results in range resolution degradation. Open loop control solutions like Voltage Pre-Distortion method are not adequate for the applications like FMCW Radar Altimeter because of the noisy and non-stationary structure of th...

Transmitter Noise Considerations in Super-Nyquist FMCW Radar Design

In this letter, we introduce a design consideration for super-Nyquist FMCW radar systems relating to transmitter to receiver noise leakage. Phase noise curves comparing the fundamental DDS frequency and its 2nd super-Nyquist image show a significant increase in relative noise level at all offsets from the carrier. This results in a reduced transmitter signal-to-noise ratio. It is shown with a s...

A 900-MHz/f.$-GHz CMOS Transmitter for Dual-Band Applications

This paper introduces a 900-MHz/1.8-GHz CMOS transmitter designed for dual-band applications. Configured as a two-step architecture, the circuit generates the first upconverted signal in quadrature phases and subsequently performs single-sideband modulation to produce the output in the two bands. Fabricated in a 0.6-,urn CMOS technology, the transmitter draws 70 mW from a 3-V supply.

Design and Analysis of 4-GHz SOP FMCW HMIC Radar

The demand for higher performance systems that are smaller and have the potential to be more cost effective has lead hardware designers to adopt integration of many components and modules in a package (SOP) or on a chip (SOC). A compact SOP (single-substrate) L-band FMCW HMIC radar module for high-resolution sensor application has been demonstrated. For use with a single transmitreceive antenna...
